Marie is an Editor based in Los Angeles, CA where she lives with her wife and many houseplants. 🌱

Born and raised in Indianapolis, IN, she spent her early years as an artist working with painting, printmaking, photography, and mixed media.

She received her B.A. from Indiana University Bloomington in Telecommunications with minors in Studio Art and Sociology. Afterwards, she established Empress Images, a production company offering editing, motion graphics, and videography. Her clients ranged from brides and grooms to fortune 500 company CBRE. She also directed/edited her first narrative short film, A Closeness.

Later, she moved to Los Angeles to attend UCLA in pursuit of an MFA in Filmmaking. Here, she wrote, directed, edited, and produced a variety of short films, both narrative and documentary. She also received the Edie and Lew Wasserman Film Production Fellowship for artistic merit.

Since graduating from UCLA with an MFA from the School of Theatre, Film, and Television, she has been added to the IER Local 700 as an Assistant Editor and has primarily worked on documentary and commercial projects as an editor, AE, online editor, colorist, and motion graphics artist. Her most notable project as an editor, A Town Called Victoria, is a 3-part docuseries available on the PBS App and Amazon Prime.
